Left-Over Chords

Sometimes, on a chord sheet, a chord can cover multiple lyric lines. In the example below, the second la major chord (A) continues to the second lyric line until the mi major (E) chord.

[chorus 1] E A I am in love E A Cause my heart never stops thinking about you now

Chordbaby can understand these cases and arrange the parsed chord sheet accordingly. You can see that when you synchronize the chord sheet with the music, the A chord is expanded to the second lyric line. We call the chord that is expanded to the line below as a Left-Over Chord.

💡
Tip

Left-Over Chords are chords that continue from the previous chord line.

Toggle Left-Over Chords Display

By default, you do not see these left-over chords. You can toggle them on and off in the Style Settings section.

Empty Lines

Any empty lines in the chord sheet break the left-over chord logic. For example, the chord sheet below is not parsed correctly because Chordbaby thinks a new paragraph starts and should not expand the chord from the line above.

Tip

Empty lines break Left-Over Chord logic.
